The Saker Falcon
(Falco cherrug)
is a large falcon of the steppe and forest-steppe regions of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The birds are diurnal.
The females are significantly larger and heavier than the males.
The saker falcon is the national bird of Hungary, and in 2012 it was voted the national bird of Mongolia.
Saker falcons are among the most endangered falcon species in the world.
Der Sakerfalke

Die Vögel sind tagaktiv.
Die Weibchen sind deutlich größer und schwerer als die Männchen.
Der Sakerfalke ist der Nationalvogel Ungarns, und 2012 wurde er zum Nationalvogel der Mongolei gewählt.
Sakerfalken gehören zu den am stärksten gefährdeten Falkenarten der Welt.

In Arabien ist seit jeher der Falke der Nationalvogel.Er ist zugleich Statussymbol der Scheichs.
In Abu Dhabi gibt es sogar ein Krankenhaus für Falken.
6000 Vögel werden dort jährlich medizinisch betreut.
Für die Beduinen war er sogar lebenswichtig, denn er erbeutete Hasen und sorgte für Frischfleisch.
Ich sehe ein ganz feines Falken-Porträt und bedanke mich herzlich für Deine zahlreichen Belobigungen. Gruß Ralf
